Steel Forging Press
2,500 to 4,500 Metric tons
SR Overview
The SR Steel Forging Press is composed by thick steel sheets cut by die-sinking, welded and stress-relieved before the machining so as to eliminate any residual tension. The dimension study is carried out according to methods of calculation in order to assure the maximum strength against any deformation even under the highest load. In particular, the bed plate and the cross-head, where the eccentric shaft is housed, are conveniently reinforced and strengthened in order to absorb the shocks during the machining: consequently a very high quality degree of manufactured pieces and a good life of dies are assured. For presses up to 1600 ton capacity the structure is monolithic and preloaded by means of 4 tie-rods. For presses of larger capacity the structure consists of 4 parts: this way the assembly and transport operations are simplified. All the frames have very wide lateral openings in order to apply transfers or automatic loading-unloading systems.

SR Steel Forging Press Features
- The Clutch is a multiple disc type with electro pneumatic drive, turbo-cooled, and is directly fitted on the eccentric shaft
- On request, hydraulic brake-clutch group solutions are available
- The bushings, made of special bronze-nickel alloy, work under a low specific load thanks to the two wide supporting surfaces located at the ends
- The slide guides
are made of bronze with the option of adjustment in all directions by means of counter gibs with conical blocks
- Upper ejection is composed by independent hydraulic cylinders, with fixed stroke
- Lower ejection is composed by a system of hydraulic cylinders which operate a push-pin rod
- Thermal control via a complete cyclic test every 120 seconds
- Hydraulic release system
